National Diaspora Strategy
Proposal Impact
The Deon Policy Institute’s forthcoming report on the Greek Diaspora is poised to be a game-changer in Greece’s efforts to connect with its global citizens. By offering a detailed analysis of the Diaspora’s evolution, demographic shifts, and unique challenges, the report provides a blueprint for engaging this dynamic community.
This initiative goes beyond identifying needs; it highlights how the Diaspora’s expertise, networks, and investments can catalyze Greece’s cultural, economic, and technological progress, fostering a deeper and mutually beneficial connection.
Proposal Overview
In 2024, Greece introduced its first comprehensive National Diaspora Strategy in over two decades, signaling a renewed commitment to engage its global Greek community. The Deon Policy Institute was a key contributor, providing 28 in-depth recommendations, 17 of which were incorporated into the final framework presented in November.
Deon’s Role and Insights:
Tailored Proposals: Addressing cultural preservation, economic collaboration, and professional opportunities for Diaspora members.
Strategic Vision: Highlighting pathways for Diaspora contributions to Greece’s economy, innovation, and international influence.
Forthcoming Report: Analyzing Diaspora demographics, challenges, and untapped potential for strengthening Greece’s future.
By placing the Diaspora at the heart of its growth strategy, Greece is fostering a meaningful partnership with its global citizens, transforming them into key drivers of cultural and economic progress.
