Contributor Job Description:

As a Contributor specializing in Greek policy, you will play a critical role in conducting in-depth research, analysis, and policy development for Greece. You will collaborate closely with experts, engage with policymakers, stakeholders, and the public, and contribute to shaping the discourse on Greek policy issues.

We are looking for people who are experts in their field, interested in drafting actionable, evidence-based policy proposals for Greece.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive research on Greek policy topics in your field, identifying opportunities and challenges for potential changes.

  • Analyzing data, trends, and policy developments to inform evidence-based policy recommendations.

  • Preparing high-quality policy briefs, publications and in some cases research reports for dissemination to various audiences.

  • Engaging in collaborative projects and contributing to interdisciplinary research initiatives.

  • Participating in policy discussions, forums, and events to represent Desmos Policy Institute and share expertise.

  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of Greek policy issues and international dynamics that impact Greece.

Qualifications:

  • Students in pursuit of a master's degree or higher in a relevant field. We also accept application from recent graduates.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, including proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.

  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in researching and analyzing Greek policy issues strongly preferred.

  • A passion for public policy, a commitment to evidence-based research, and a desire to make a positive impact on Greek society.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of Greek is a strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience working in a think tank, research institution, or a similar policy-oriented setting is preferred.

Please note that this is an unpaid volunteer position. Covering research related costs will be determined on a case by case basis.

    • High Skilled Talent: How can Greece attract more highly skilled talent?

    • Scale-ups: How can Greece improve the entrepreneurship environment for scale ups?

  • Energy & Climate

    • Technologies: What role can different technologies play for Climate adaptation in Greece?

    • Eco-islands: How can Greece expand its eco-island initiative?

  • Diaspora

    • The Diaspora in the US: What are the characteristics of the Diaspora in the US?

    • Citizenship Process: How can the citizenship application process be streamlined?

1.      A recent version of your resume / CV, with links to any professional website (LinkedIn, or academic research page)

2.      A project pitch. In the body of the email please include:

a)     The policy recommendation that you have for Greece. This must include an explanation of the challenge /  opportunity, an overview of the policy you want to recommend, supporting evidence as why you think this is a good fit for Greece. Project pitches must be in the four focus areas of Deon Policy Institute (Education, Entrepreneurship, Energy & Climate, Diaspora). Strong preference is given to those who will pitch projects in the areas of focus identified above. (up to 350 words)

b)     An explanation of why you have the right experience, expertise and skills to draft such a proposal. (up to 250 words)
